Marnus & Bianca's Intimate Forest Wedding in Gansbaai
Every time I look back over Marnus and Bianca’s wedding photos, I find myself sitting with a huge smile on my face (the type that’s so big that it makes your jaw ache and then makes you feel silly because you’re sitting all alone staring at a computer screen).
Disclaimer – Bianca is one of my closest and dearest friends, so despite the fact that I already have a propensity to get all emotional while shooting, this day was just on a whole other level…
There is no other way to describe this beautiful day than to say that it was a day set aside and ordained by God. In the planning phases of their wedding day, it felt as if NOTHING was going according to plan. And nothing did – not the way they originally wanted it. But in the end, it was perfect. The type of perfect that no amount of planning could ever achieve.
Marnus and Bianca share a very special love for nature, which was how they ended up crossing each other’s paths. So it was only natural that they chose to celebrate their union with an intimate wedding ceremony set in the forests of De Uiljenes farm just outside of Gansbaai.
I always love a wedding that’s not quite so traditional – these two decided to skip the usual wedding reception procedures for a picnic-style gathering in the forest. The dinner menu was also one of the best I’ve ever experienced: out there in the middle of the forest, they had a pizza oven pumping out the most amazing fresh, homemade pizzas! (There is a possibility I may have rolled home after this one.)
It was such a magical evening filled with fun and laughter and happy hearts. Thank you Marnus and Bianca for allowing me the privilege of capturing your special day for you. What a treat. ♡
